According to the FDA many of the old drugs that are manufactured today are being fazed out in favor of new drugs that are supposed to work better and be more specific to individual needs. Getting new prescription drugs to the consumer is both good news and bad news. The bad news is that the average costs of one prescription in America went from $30.00 or so, up to over $70.00 in just the last couple of years. Providing you can afford your medication in the 1st place, the good news, according to the FDA, is that the needed time spent in a hospitol has decreased, and is saving the consumer thousands in hospitol costs. Meanwhile the pharmaceutical companys seems to jack up the price of your medications with no fiscal basis. I mean it cost these pharmaceutical companys penneys per barrel to manufacture the "active ingredient" in any drug in the marketplace. Now even if you have health insurance at your job, the insurance companys are raising your monthly premiums and your deductable every year. For example with my own medication, 8 years ago I used to pay a $7.00 deductable, now it is prorated each year starting at $65.00 and slowly trickles down to $28.00 or so. It dosen't take a mathamatition to figure out where this is going in the next 8 to 10 years. Lucky for me I found a discount Rx program that is free.
